Director of Connectional Ministries
…serves as a steward of the annual conference’s vision. They are typically charged with aligning the resources of the conference with its vision and with enabling connections among the various ministries of the annual conference.
The DS-DCM Orientation is an onboarding experience for new and returning DSs, DCMs, and those serving in similar roles. It’s hosted by the Council of Bishops and facilitated in collaboration with the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry and Discipleship Ministries.
The DS-DCM Orientation will be held July 28-August 1, 2024 at Lake Junaluska, NC. Registration is by invitation-only through your area’s episcopal leadership.
Orientation content will include:
- Plenaries covering Adaptive Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Intercultural Competency, Resiliency, Transformation and Renewal, and Resource Alignment
- Technical workshops covering Legal Issues, Supervision, and Personnel
- Intercultural Development Inventory coaching
- Spiritual reflection
- Opportunities for rest and renewal
- Reflective Supervision (for DCMs)
- Coaching (for DSs)
