GBHEM’s Office of Scholarships administers more than 80 scholarships with one general application. While criteria for each scholarship vary, there are minimum eligibility requirements for consideration.
MINIMUM SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS (GBHEM General Application for students’ enrollment in the United States.)
- You must be an incoming college first-year student or a current first year, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in an accredited institution in the United States.
- You must be an active, full member of a United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to application (some programs require three years membership) as of Aug.1, 2024.
- You must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- International applicants can apply if all the above criteria are met.
If you do not meet these requirements, your application will not be considered.
NOTE: Scholarships offered by GBHEM are separate from those offered by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF). You are welcome to apply for awards from both GBHEM and UMHEF but must submit separate applications provided by each office. UMHEF scholarship opportunities are for students enrolled in United Methodist related institutions only. Learn more about UMHEF scholarships here
The general application for all GBHEM scholarships closes Monday, March 31, 2025.
